Magnesium sulfate monohydrate is a white crystalline powder or fine granules, odorless, with a slightly bitter taste. Compared to anhydrous magnesium sulfate, it has significantly lower hygroscopicity, is less prone to deliquescence in air, and is more stable. It is readily soluble in water, with a solubility slightly lower than that of anhydrous magnesium sulfate, approximately 25.5 g/100 mL at 20°C. It is slightly soluble in ethanol and insoluble in organic solvents such as acetone and ether.
